He is in a Toyota product for his demonstration and he makes the point that the brake cannot override the accelerator in some vehicle models. There is a very positive message for Volkswagen at the end of the video. The Consumer Reports engineer performs the same demonstration in a Jetta Sportwagen and he states that in VWs, the brakes do override the accelerator. Volkswagen has had this technology in place in our vehicles since 1993 on diesel products and since 1999 on all gasoline models. __________________________________________________________ Arek Aneszko I can't speak highly enough about my satisfation with my buying experience. Everything was perfect, and beyond my expectations. Arek Aneszko and Jennings Volkswagen treated me incredibly well, and made it seem effortless while doing so.
I live in Austin, Texas. I wanted a VW Eos Lux with the technology package, and I could not find it in Texas. I tried working with a dealer in Houston, but the salesman never returned my queries. I tried working with a dealer in Austin, but they could not find anything in Texas for me, and they were unwilling to look out of state.
I searched online and found the car I wanted, with the minimum of options that I could be happy with. I called Jennings to ask a question about the engine in cars sold in Illinois, and my call was taken by Arek. Arek was very knowledgable about the engine. He was able to answer my question right away. He then offered to help me find the exact car I wanted. He explained that his dealership was able to search for cars in multiple states and that they do this quite often to natchtheir customers with the car they want. He made me feel very comfortable allowing him to assist me. Arek soon called me back to let me know that he had found the car at another dealer in the area.
Using phone, email, and fax, Arek led me through the process of applying for and getting accepted for VW credit, discussed pricing and offered me a fantastic deal, and secured the car from the other dealer. I had first called him on a Tuesday and the car would be ready for me as early as that Saturday.
I could not travel that soon, so I made plans to purchase the car on the following Friday. Arek didn't drop a step. He made sure that my requested dealer added options were installed. He sent me pictures of my new car when it had arrived on their lot. He even picked me up at the airport and drove me to the dealership!
During the purchase, Arek had me take the car for a test drive and inspect it to make sure I did not find anything wrong with the car. After the sale was complete, he took an hour to go through all the details of the car operation, the stereo programming, the electronic system, everything. He wanted to make sure that I was well acquainted with my new vehicle before I drove away.
All in all, Arek made this buying experience the best it could possibly be. The only regret I have now is that I don't live in Chicago. Both salespeople I spoke with at your competitors, and I use the word loosely, were unfamiliar with their inventory and said they would call me back. Even if I didn’t have such a great history with Jennings, that early display of professionalism and ease would have won me over. My husband is something of an amateur expert, reads all the car magazines and knows the stats, and even he was very impressed with Eric. We had in mind the Car of the Year and he had one ready for us to drive within minutes. While we were out, he and my husband talked about the Volkswagen company, mergers and acquisitions and new lines coming out. Eric showed the depth and range of his knowledge without coming across as a know-it-all and my picky spouse was very favorably disposed. I think Eric read my body language that, despite all the hype, this was not the car of my dreams. We drove a new Passat next and my husband was ready to reach for the check book but I still wasn’t in love. Eric led me toward the last 2009 Jetta GLI with six on the floor on the lot and as soon as I got in and started it up, I knew I had found my car. It takes a savvy and confident salesperson to know when the match is made and not push a product that isn’t “just right”, as Goldilocks would say. Alan Guevarra & Sue Guido This is the third VW Beetle I have purchased from Jennings since 2004. I am very satisfied with my Heaven Blue Metallic Beetle. While my saleman was Alan Guevarra, after I arrived at the showroom Arek brought me to the car sales lot on Waukegan Road so I could see the Beetles; that is when I noticed the new Heaven Blue Metallic Beetle. I would like to say a special thank you to Sue Guido as the remainder of my time after taking that initial ride to the car lot with Areck was spent with Sue. She took me back to the car lot on Waukegan Road so I could see the Heaven Blue Beetle again, but also to drive it back to the showroom so I could take a better look at the car inside the service garage. After we drove half way back to the showroom she motioned to me to pull into the Ace Hardware parking lot. She suggested we switch cars. She would drive the Heaven Blue Beetle so I could actually see the car on the road. Her suggestion proved to be a great idea...it cinched my decision. Plus seeing it parked near my yellow beetle made it clear to me I definitely would choose the Heaven Blue. I felt very comfortable with Sue during the entire car purchasing experience. Jason Adler After various contacts with other dealers in Indiana we decided to expand our search out of state. I contacted a few VW dealers in Illinois but we settled on Jennings VW in Glenview, IL. My case in point was that after test driving the car on Thursday afternoon, I emailed Eric a counter offer on Friday. Eric promptly emailed me back and Sue followed-up with a phone call. We closed the deal early Saturday afternoon.
In contrast, the same email I sent to Jennings was also sent to the AutoBarn in Evanston. They did not respond until Monday morning and still didn't beat your price.
All the while, Eric and Sue were courteous and pleasant, never pressuring me in any way. They even made sure my Touareg was washed in minutes (twice in 3 days), which brought a smile to my face.
As a result, Jennings will be my first choice when it comes time for me to purchase a car in the future.

I drove down in some really snowy conditions and the ESP and ABS in the car worked like a charm. The ESP kicked in a lot when going under over passes and on bridges where the falling snow and melt was freezing up quickly. The car was white from the salt by the time it got down here but hopefully it won't be seeing salt like that ever again.
